تطمح هذه الدراسة إلى قراءة صورة الإله في النصوص الدينية المقدسة ومقارنة تمثلات الفرد المتدين لها بدءا من الوثنية وصولا إلى الديانات التوحيدية مطيتها في ذلك المنهجين التحليلي والمقارني. وقد انتهت الدراسة إلى أن صورة الإله متحولة متبدلة عبر الرحيل الثقافي من ديانة إلى أخرى. فإذا كانت صورة الإله في العصر الوثني وفي الديانتين اليهودية والمسيحية قد جمعت بين المقدس والمدنس، فإنها في الإسلام قد تجلت مقدسة طاهرة عظيمة.
