Overview
تعد دراسة وتتبع مستوى الوفيات وتباينها في المجتمع ككل من المؤشرات الهامة لتقييم الوعي الصحي وتطور الخدمات الصحية فيه إذ أنها تمثل أحد أهم المؤثرات الحيوية في نمو وتوزيع وتركيب السكان وتباين محدداته الديموغرافية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية المختلفة. إذ يمكننا القول منطقة الدراسة لم تحظى بنصيب وافر عن هذا الموضوع وفي ضوء ذلك كان الهدف من تناولها التعرف على حجم الوفيات وأسبابها والأنماط التوزيعية المكانية والزمانية لها وتباين خصائصها الديموغرافية حيث أن ندرة البيانات الإحصائية للوفيات شكل صعوبة تواجه كل من يتصدى لدراسة ورصد هذا الأمر وهي عقبة تؤثر على خطط ومسار التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية.
