Overview
شرعت العناصر اليمينة التي انهزمت في أعقاب انتصار الشيوعيين في لاوس، وسيطرتهم على مقاليد السلطة في البلاد أواخر عام 1975، إلى قيادة مقاومة مسلحة للتصدي إلى الشيوعيين الذين بدؤا بملاحقة كبار المسؤولين في الحكومة الملكية السابقة وزجهم في المعتقلات، فضلا عن إصدار لوائح من العقوبات التي طالت قسما كبيرا منهم. وشكل عناصر الهمونغ الجزء الأكبر من المقاومة، إذ نظموا جيشا سريا بقيادة الزعيم فانغ باو. وقد ارتىء فانغ باو وبعض القيادات اليمينة إلى إعادة تنظيم جبهة سياسية في الخارج عام ۱۹۸۱.
