Overview
شهدت المدة الممتدة من ٨٠٠- ٦٠٠ ق. م، قيام اليونانيين باستيطان المناطق الغربية من آسيا الصغرى طوروا خلالها عددا من المستعمرات، وأسسوا دولا ومدنا قوية، عملت بشكل مستقل عن مدنهم الأم تعددت الأسباب التي دفعت اليونانيين إلى إنشاء مستعمرات قادرة على النمو الاقتصادي منها ما يتعلق بالاكتظاظ السكاني في الوطن الأم، ومنها ما يتعلق بعدم قدرة أراضي دول المدن اليونانية الأصلية على تشكيل مدينة كبيرة بسبب التضاريس في حين كانت المناطق التي استعمرها واسعة وخصبة، والبحث التالي هو محاولة لتسليط الضوء على الأسباب الاقتصادية التي عدت أحد دوافع الاستعمار الأيوني لسواحل آسيا الصغرى.
