Overview
The Lighthouse of Alexandria was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Since Ptolemy Philadelphus' reign, it has been one of the most famous buildings in Alexandria's harbor. The Light House is an iconic symbol of classical history. Poets and artists described its magnificence, but when did it disappear? Neither archaeological nor historical evidence has been found, except of some remarks that the Arab historians have made.
