يلقي هذا البحث الأضواء على الكتابة التاريخية لدي أ.د. جاد طه أستاذ التاريخ الحديث والمعاصر بجامعة عين شمس، وفي مقدورنا اعتبار أ.د. جاد طه مؤرخا رائدا ومن مؤسسي سمنار التاريخ الحديث والمعاصر بكلية الآداب-جامعة عين شمس، لذا، فإن هذا البحث يناقش كيف وصل إلى تلك المكانة المميزة. أفاد ذلك المؤرخ الرائد من معاصرته للعديد من أحداث تاريخ مصر منذ ثلاثينيات القرن الماضي، كما أشترك في حرب اليمن 1962-1966م، ومن قبل اشترك في عرة أبو عجيله 1956م وأصيب فيها.
