يتناول هذا البحث دراسة الجذور التاريخية للأكراد لأنهم يعتبرون جزءاً من تاريخ المسلمون وتناول البحث أيضا جغرافيا تلك بلادهم وكيف أثرت طبيعة بلادهم في طباعهم وشخصياتهم، وكذلك إسهاماتهم السياسية والحضارية خلال عهد صلاح الدين الأيوبي، وتضمن البحث المقدمة: أهمية الموضوع وأسباب اختياره والمنهج المتبع، والدراسات السابقة، ثم تناول البحث الحديث عن البيئة الجغرافية لبلاد الأكراد، ومناقشة الآراء المختلفة حول جذورهم التاريخية، وجغرافية بلادهم.
