Overview
The detrimental effects of human activities on the environment are widely acknowledged, prompting the international community to implement various measures, including the Paris Agreement, to address these challenges. In this context, the concept of circular economy has emerged as a significant response to this urgent issue. This research aims to explore the framework of the CE, its foundational principles, and its potential effects. We have identified a range of findings, with a particular emphasis on the long-term transformation of business models. The CE aspires to embody the principles of sustainable development by enhancing the management of resources-such as raw materials and energy-to minimize their consumption. This approach draws inspiration from the closed-loop systems of natural ecosystems, contrasting sharply with the traditional linear model, that depends on the unlimited use of resources, while also highlighting the positive effects on individuals in their roles as employees or consumers.
