Overview
It has been claimed for decades that firms make their investment decisions considering only their own situation and the proposed investment project features. However, this line of though has been challenged by the idea of being affected by the spillover generated from industry peers through reputational, learning, strategic, and behavioral channels. Hence, peer firms actions and accounting reports can be a source of influence impacting focal firm's investment scale. However the relation between scale and efficiency is inconclusive. This research aims to scrutinize the effect of peers on firm's investing decisions and the resulted investment efficiency.
