Overview
ارتبط تطور الصحافة في ليبيا خلال المدة (1912-1969)، بالتطورات السياسية الداخلية، مع تعاقب 3 أنظمة للحكم، حيث سعت الصحافة والصحفيون، إلى التعامل مع المستجدات، بفعالية وحرفية عالية، لذا شهدت ليبيا، مراحل ازدهار للصحافة، مع تنوع مصادرها، حيث كان للمحتل الإيطالي، صحافته الخاصة، التي سبقت الاحتلال عام 1911، ثم استمرت حتى نهايته، عام 1943، في حين عمل فيها، نخبة من المثقفين الليبيين، لذا كانت تقدم للمواطن الليبي، المعلومة المفيدة والخبر المهم، ومع مجيء الإدارة البريطانية - الفرنسية المشتركة (1943-1951) ، ثم العهد الملكي (1951-1969)، بقيت الصحافة تمارس دورها كسلطة رابعة؛ لكن مع اختلاف اهتماماتها.
