يتناول البحث جهود سعاد الحكيم في دراسة التصوف الإسلامي وعلاقتها بابن عربي ولغته، ومنهجها في دراسة التصوف، وأهم السمات التي تميز هذا المنهج، كما يناقش العوامل التي شكلت التجربة الروحية عند سعاد الحكيم، وخصوصية الخطاب لدى الحكيم، وانفتاح نصها على عدة مستويات معرفية من ناحية، وتقاطع الحقول المعرفية لديها من ناحية أخرى. كذلك يتناول البحث جهود الحكيم بناء الجانب الإنساني.
