Overview
This paper aims to analyze the different semantic values of the prepositions used in the Culinary language. The semantic variety that prepositions have is very clear in the Culinary language, this why I chose it. Defining the meaning of the preposition depends on its value in general as well as on the semantic relationship it has with the word that follows or the verb that precedes. The single preposition cannot have an autonomous meaning, but can have different meanings and values according to the context in which it is placed and according to the following word. The paper is divided, in addition to the introduction and conclusion, into two essential parts: the first parts includes a theoretical part that deals with some semantic and linguistic concepts to determine the different values of meanings according to linguists. the second part includes the four most important prepositions used in the Culinary language. Giallo Zafferano website was chosen as a source for analysis and extracting multiple examples of prepositions and their different meanings due to its rich and diverse content, in addition to its popularity.
