日本とエジプトにおける女子教育改革の一考察

Overview
現代エジプトと日本においては、教育機会における男 女間格差は基本的にない。 後期中等教育、高等教育段階にお いても男女間での進学機会の相違はみられない。しかしなが ら、歴史的にみれば、 特に 初めて近代的な教育制度を導入し た段階において、 女子が教育機会において恵まれていなかっ た。初等教育でも、女子の就学率は非常に低かった。また、 女子の中等教育を受ける機会は限られていた。高等教育を受 ける女性はほぼゼロに近かった。この状況の中でエジプトの ナバウィア・ムーサと日本の津田梅子が登場し、女子教育の 向上に苦労し、自国に私立女子学校を開設し、生涯にわたっ て女子教育を支援しました。本研究では、ナバウィアと梅子 の生涯と、女子教育を支援する彼らの思想と努力に光を照ら して、現代史における 両者 の体験の類似点と相違点を明らか にし行きたいと思っています 。
