إلى جانب تمتع صاحب المصنفات الرقمية للحقوق الأدبية على مصنفاته ونتاجه الذهني، فانه وبالمقابل يتمتع بعوائد اقتصادية على إنتاجه، وهو ما يعرف بالحقوق المالية أو المادية، فيعد الحق المالي لصاحب المصنف أحد أهم الجوانب في تشريعات حقوق المؤلف التي حضيت بالحماية والاهتمام بوصفها ملكية خاصة، جاءت نتاج عمل فكري إنساني مشروع، ولكل إنسان أن يقضي ما اكتسبه بجهده وعمله ويتمتع بثماره الناتجة عن عصفه الذهني وإبداعاته الفكرية. ويمثل الحق المالي لصاحب المصنفات الرقمية القيمة المالية للابتكار وإبداعه، وهو حق استئثاري مقرب لصاحب المصنف وحده، وهو حق مؤقت ينقضي بمدة معينة يحددها القانون، بموجب هذا الحق يستطيع صاحب المصنف استغلال مصنفه بما يعود عليه بالمنفعة والربح المالي.
