Overview
The research paper at hand addresses the development of basic linguistic communication skills for teaching and learning French as a foreign language in the time of the Corona virus pandemic. For your information, education and learning of these skills must continue, and not stop, as it is not right for us to stop working just because the pandemic spreads. Rather, we must continue, and here we must know, what are the basic linguistic communication skills then? Linguistic communication skills are the basic comprehension and production skills necessary for learning the French language in particular, and other foreign languages in general. In more detail, comprehension skills include understanding and comprehending texts orally and in writing (compréhension orale et par écrit), and these cover the skills of listening, reading, and comprehending texts. As for production skills, they include the skills of producing and creating texts orally and in writing (production orale et écrite). These cover speaking skills and text editing. These major skills involve smaller and smaller skills to include linguistic skills related to grammar, morphology, sounds, linguistic structures, and science. Meanings, semantics, and other linguistic sciences. In order for us to be able to present these skills, and develop their teaching and learning with the same efficiency as face-to-face teaching and learning, there must be an educational technology managed by digital technology (introducing technology into teaching and learning, or what are called (Web 2) tools, the most important of which are educational platforms related to teaching and learning, The paper emphasized the most famous platform associated with the teaching and learning process, known as the Plate-forme d'Edmodo platform. The research paper attempted to focus on the following questions: 1. How can linguistic communication skills be developed in French as a foreign language in the era of the Corona pandemic? 2. What role do digital learning platforms in general, and the Edmodo platform in particular, play in developing these skills? 3. What is the proposed educational program to develop these communication skills through the Edmodo platform?
