Overview
إن القص على لسان الحيوان، والإفادة منه سياسياً كرمز يشي بالمرموز إليه، وستار يشف عما وراءه، كان ظاهرة فنية جديدة في العصر العباسي، من حيث كونها عملا قصصيا متكاملا، ومدونا في الوقت ذاته، فضلا عن كونه مذهبا، أو اتجاها، اتبع سننه كثير من الكتاب في هذا العصر، وساروا على غراره، كسهل بن هارون (ت 215 هـ)، وعلي بن عبيدة الريحاني (ت 219 هـ)، وعلي بن داود المعروف بكاتب زبيدة (ت نحو 230 هـ)، وغيرهم. إلا أن ابن المقفع هو أول من سلك هذه الشعاب العذراء، ووطأ أكنافها، وأخذ بزمام القافلة، في مسالك كثيرة العثار - وأعني ميدان السياسة وأهوالها - فهلك بعد أن استبان لها سواء السبيل
