Overview
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reshaped the global economic and social landscape, with over 3.5 million confirmed cases. The world entered a state of lockdown, halting substantial portions of economic activity and revealing severe forms of recession, such as job losses, bankruptcies, and disruptions to education. This article aims to explore the broad economic and social repercussions of this unprecedented crisis. Additionally, it examines the impact of the pandemic on global food prices by analyzing key reports from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Findings indicate that while food prices declined during certain periods due to reduced demand, they remained relatively stable overall.
