计划生育政策是中国社会历史上的重大事件，中国延续执行 了几十年的政策，使其对人口结构的影响在多方面显现出来，它 产生了积极的影响，也产生了消极的影响，受到社会各界、媒体、 新闻机构和世界各国的高度关注。文学在传播文化、提高人们意 识方面的作用是不可否认的，而莫言是一位具有强烈社会责任感 的作家，总是着眼于现实生活，描写人们的欢乐和痛苦。《蛙》 向我们揭示了计划生育政策对群众的影响，并且每一枚硬币都有 两面性，计划生育政策成功地实现了其目标，控制了人口爆炸， 严格政策在创造福祉的同时也对中国人民造成了伤害。
