يسعى هذا البحث إلى إبراز عناية علماء نجد بكتاب \"روضة الناظر وجنة المناظر\" لموفق الدين ابن قدامة المقدسي، الذي يعد من أجل مصنفات الحنابلة في أصول الفقه، وإلى بيان أوجه تلك العناية التي تمثلت في وقف نسخ الكتاب على بعض المدارس، أو الحرص على اقتنائها وضمها إلى مكتباتهم الخاصة أو العامة، أو استعارتها، أو استنساخها، أو النقل من الكتاب والاستمداد منه، أو وضع الحواشي عليه، أو تدريسه للطلاب، ويندرج في تلك العناية أيضا طبع الكتاب، إذ كانت أول طبعة له بأمر من الملك عبد العزيز آل سعود سنة ١٣٤٢هـ، وكذا العناية بما وضع على الكتاب من تلخيص أو مختصر أو شرح؛ نسخا أو مقابلة أو قراءة على الشيوخ.
