يناول المقال مفهوم الزمن في القرآن والسنة ولدى طائفة من العلماء، وكذلك مبدأ الحركة والزمن وتطبيقاته في الاقتصادي، كما يتضمن المقال دراسة لاستخدام الزمن لدى 800 طالب جامعي. يعد الزمن (Era) أو الوقت (Time) بعداً رئيسياً من أبعاد الوجود، كما يعد بعدا رئيسا لحياة الأفراد، والشعوب، والمجتمعات، والأمم. ويتداخل مفهوم الزمن مع مفهوم الوقت، حيث أن اليوم وأجزاءه من الساعة والدقيقة والثانية، ومضاعفاته من الأسابيع والأشهر والسنين، هي وحدات الزمن، وكلها تنطوي على أوقات، والأوقات هي أجزاء الزمن.
