Overview
يستعرض هذا البحث مسألة تنظيم قطاع الأوقاف في لبنان منذ نهاية الخلافة العثمانية وإلى وقتنا الراهن. وتحلل الباحثة العناصر التي ساهمت تاريخيا في إضعاف إدارة المسلمين على أوقافهم بداية من الاستعمار الفرنسي، ومرورا بالأحداث التي عصفت بلبنان (خاصة الحرب الأهلية)، ووصولا إلى الوقت الراهن. ولقد أدت هذه العوامل مشتركة إلى حالة جمود للمؤسسة الوقفية مع ضمور في مداخلها وضياع للعديد من أعيانها الوقفية. وتطرح الكاتبة في القسم الثاني من بحثها نموذجا لدور الوقف في رعاية الأيتام في مدينة بيروت مستقصيه أثر العوامل التاريخية التي صاحبت تنظيم قطاع الأوقاف في لبنان.
