يتناول هذا البحث إستراتيجيات تسعير صادرات البترول الخام من دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي ومصر ويركز التحليل في البداية على الخصائص الاقتصادية لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي ومصر من حيث الناتج المحلي الإجمالي، وعدد السكان، ونقاط التشابه والاختلاف بين هياكل الإنتاج، والتجارة الخارجية (الصادرات والواردات) لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي الست (المملكة العربية السعودية، الكويت، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، قطر، مملكة البحرين، وسلطنة عمان) ومصر. ثم يتناول بالتحليل أسباب اختلاف وتغير أسعار صادرات البترول من هذه الدول وخاصة أسباب التغيرات الكبيرة (مثل حرب العراق 2003، والأزمة المالية العالمية 2008، والثورة الليبية 2011)، والعوامل التي تؤدي إلى إحداث التغيرات الصغيرة في أسعار صادرات البترول من تلك الدول سواء من جانب العرض (مثل حجم الإنتاج، والاحتياطيات، والمخزون التجاري والإستراتيجي) والعوامل التي تكمن في جانب الطلب (مثل الطلب العالمي، والواردات، والاستهلاك العالمي من البترول).
