Overview
تعد منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي إحدى أهم واكبر المنظمات الدولية . وهذا ما أكدته مواقفها من القضايا الإسلامية والدولية، وقد ساهمت إيران بتأسيس هذه المنظمة منذ عام 1969، واشتركت في معظم مؤتمراتها سواء على مستوى القمة أو على مستوى الوزراء، كما استضافت بدورها بعضا منها، كما كان لإيران نشاطات ثقافية مع مركز الأبحاث للتاريخ والفنون الإسلامية باستانبول التابع لمنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي، وقد حققت إيران ومن خلال عضويتها في المنظمة انفتاحا واضحا في علاقاتها الخارجية في عهد الرئيس محمد خاتمي مع الدول العربية والإسلامية والغربية.
