عالج هذا البحث مفهوم الموت في مسرحية أنتيكون المستلهمة من الأسطورة الإغريقية \"أسطورة اوديب\" للكاتب الإغريقي سوفوكليس والتي وظفت بشكل جيد من قبل الكاتب وذلك للتعبير عن القلق والمشكلات التي كان يعاني منها المواطن الفرنسي أبان الاحتلال الألماني لفرنسا عام 1944. ارتبط مفهوم الموت بمفاهيم عديدة منها عامل الوراثة وما له من تأثير على الأجيال اللاحقة والمبالغة وما لها من أثار سلبية عل الشخص الذي يتبناها والعبثية والحرية والنقاء والعزلة وان الموت لم يعد مرتبطا بالدافع الديني الذي كان يشكل المحور الرئيسي الذي تقوم عليه الأسطورة الإغريقية.
