تشمل هذه الدراسة \"الجذور التاريخية لظاهرة الرقيق عند الشعوب القديمة وعرب الجزيرة قبل الإسلام، دراسة تاريخية \". وذلك أن تلك الظاهرة تختلج الإنسان وتجعله يتحكم في أخيه الإنسان الآخر، وهي موجودة منذ القدم حيث مارستها أغلب الأمم القديمة للاستفادة من قدرات أشخاص وقعوا في الأسر نتيجة الحروب الدائرة بينهم، ولهذا فقد سخروا للقيام بأعمال تطلبت جهداً ومشقة.
