Overview
هذه الدراسة تمثل حوصلة المفاهيم المتعلقة بتخصص علم المكتبات والمعلومات، لا سيما ما تعلق منها بنشأة هذا العلم واعتماده أكاديميا بصفة رسمية في المؤسسات الجامعية منذ ما يقارب القرن ونصف، ثم التعرض إلى تطوره في العالمين الغربي ثم العربي، وانتشاره في البلدان العربية منذ منتصف القرن العشرين بدءا بمصر ومرورا بالجزائر، والتطرق لمسيرة التغير في المفاهيم والمصطلحات المرتبطة بالتخصص وكذا العلاقات التي تربطه بمختلف العلوم الأخرى، كما تناولت الدراسة مسألة التكوين في علم المكتبات من خلال التعريف بالهيئات المسئولة عن التكوين في علم المكتبات والمعلومات ودور مدارس المكتبات في التطوير المهني للمكتبات وأخصائيي التوثيق والمعلومات.
