تعتبر ظاهرة تهدل وانخساف المحاور الطرقية بالمدار الحضري لمدينة فاس من ضمن إشكاليات البحث الجيومرفلوجي التطبيقي وإسهامه في دراسة الأخطار الطبيعية التي تهدد المنشئات البشرية. كما تعتبر من ضمن الإكراهات الكبرى في مجالات التخطيط والتهيئة والتدبير. وتعتبر حالة التهدل المستمر للطريق التي تعبر النطاق الشمالي الشرقي لمدينة فاس (على مقاربة من قنطرة بنطاطو)، نموذجا معبرا لتطور هذه الظاهرة. فإذا كان تطور الانزلاق ناتج عن التأثير.
