Overview
يواجه العالم خطر التصحر ومايسببه من تدهور للنظام البيئي والتنوع الحيوي ,والذي تتعرض له المناطق الجافة وشبه الجافة وشبه الرطبة .وما تتركه من تأثيرات سلبية على الجوانب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والسياسية ,وعليه فالعراق احد الدول التي تعاني مشكلة التصحر ومن ضمنها منطقة الدراسة لما تتصف به من الخصائص الطبيعية و البشرية والتي تأتي في مقدمتها خصائص التربة الفيزيائية والكيميائية وكذلك الخصائص المناخية الجافة وشبه الجافة ,فضلا ً عن طبيعة الموارد المائية من ناحية كميتها ونوعيتها كلها عوامل اسهمت وتسهم في اتساع ظاهرة التصحر وبروز مظاهرها وما تسببه من اثار مستقبلية في منطقة الدراسة لذا تبلورت الدراسة في جوانب مهمة تمثلت في الكشف عن مظاهرها وتحديد مسبباتها وبيان تأثيرها والحد منها .
