Overview
مع الفتح العربي انتقل مركز الاستقطاب الاقتصادي بالمغرب نحو المناطق السباسبية والمتاخمة للصحراء، وهو تحول أدى إلى ازدهار بلاد نفزاوة التي غدت إقليما مزهرا ذو واحات خصبة وعمارات متصلة. كما أصبحت عاصمته بشرى من أهم حواضر جنوب إفريقية وساهمت الطريق الرومانية الجنوبية التي كان يتمحور حولها خط التخوم العسكرية (ليماس) في ازدهار التجارة والصنائع فكانت درجين ومدن أخري تصدر نحو الشرق أقمشتها وأكسيتها الرفيعة، كما اشتهرت طرة بصناعة الزجاج. وكان التصدع السياسي الذي عرفته بلاد المغرب، إضافة إلى انتشار البداوة من أهم عوامل تراجع بلاد نفزاوة في العهد الحفصي وهي عوامل أدت أيضا إلى تفاقم هذه الظاهرة في العصر الحديث وما صاحبها من تصدع المدن وتحولها إلى قرى وأحياء متناحرة.
