Overview
إن كتاب (في الأدب الجاهلي)، الذي رأى النور في أخريات الثلث الأول من القرن الماضي، كان صيدا سهلا للكثير من الأقلام التي تناولته بالنقد تارة وبالهجوم تارات؛ بسبب طروحاته الجريئة التي حاولت أن تنسف إرث أمة بل وصل الأمر إلى أبعد من ذلك لما أثاره من جدلية حول صحة الشعر الجاهلي. إن شكوك (طه حسين) كان منطلقها ومحركها الأساس المستشرق الإنكليزي (مرجليوث) الذي كان قد نشر بحثا موسوما ب( أصول الشعر العربي) حاول فيه نسج خيوط الشك حول موروثنا الشعري. والغريب في الأمر أن استشراقية مرجليوث على علاتها كانت أخف وطأة من استغرابية (طه حسين) الذي كان مغاليا في تبني أفكار المستشرقين أكثر من المستشرقين أنفسهم.
