يدرس هذا البحث تعارض العمومين عند الأصوليين، من حيث تعريف التعارض والعموم، وبيان أنواع التعارض بين العمومين، وتسليط الضوء على مسالك الأصوليين في التعامل مع هذه الأنواع، وسياق أدلتهم، ومناقشتها، مع ذكر نماذج تطبيقية لأنواع التعارض. ويهدف البحث إلى بيان مناهج الأصوليين في هذه المسالة. وكانت أهم نتائج البحث أن التعارض بين العمومين تكون إزالته بالجمع بين العمومين أولا إن أمكن ذلك، فإن تعذر الجمع يتم الترجيح بينهما، فإن تعذر الترجيح، يقال بالنسخ إن علم التاريخ، فان جهل التاريخ يقال بالتخيير بين الأدلة أو التساقط.
