ونخلص من ذلك إلى أن سياسة نقفور المالية تجاه الكنيسة قد تمثلت في إجراءات محددة تتمثل في إلغاء الإعفاءات الضريبية التي كانت إيرين قد منحتها للكنائس والأديرة، وهو ما رأي فيه ثيوفانيس فرضاً لضرائب جديدة، والاستيلاء على مقتنيات الكنائس والأديرة المقدسة؛ ومصادرة الأراضي التي كانت تمتلكها الكنائس والأديرة.
