تتلخص فكرة الدراسة في معرفة مدى تأثير البيئة الرياضية على عملية الصراع لدى رياضي السلة للمستويات العليا وكانت أهداف الدراسة هي دراسة الأبعاد البيئية وعلاقتها بمعملية الصراع كما تهدف إلى معرفة معدلات التغير البيئي واثره على عملية الصراع وكذلك معرفة أوجه التشابه والاختلاف بين البيئات الرياضية في مختلف القطاعات، وكان تساؤل الدراسة هل هناك فروق في تأثير البيئات الرياضية قيد الدراسة على الصراع لدى رياضيي كرة السلة للمستويات العليا، وكانت أهم النتائج هي أن التغير البيئي يصاحبه تغير في عملية الصراع بصورة نسبية ولصالح لاعبي فرق الإسكندرية.
