عرفت هذه الورقة مفهوم القسم، وأحرفه المشهورة، وقدمت عرضا وافيا لكل المسائل الخاصة بكل حرفا منها، وتعطى فكرة موجزة عن بقية الأحرف. وتخصص الورقة حيزا للحديث عن ما يجاب به القسم، والشروط الخاصة بالجواب، و أخيرا عرضت الورقة أهم القضايا التركيبية الخاصة بأسلوب القسم، كقضية الحذف وغيرها. جاءت دراسة هذا الموضوع مصحوبة بالتطبيقات القرآنية على اعتبار أنه أرفع الأساليب العربية فصاحة، وذلك للوصول إلى الإطار التركيبي الذي يضع أسلوب القسم في الصورة القياسية التي تحقق الاستخدام الصحيح لهذا الأسلوب.
