Overview
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the regional commercial activities and the diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Sudan during the era of Sennar Kingdom (1504 - 1821) It describes the trade routes which connect the Eastern Sudan with Ethiopia via some important commercial centers , and imported and exported commodities with special reference to the slave trade. It also endeavors to assess the impact of internal conflicts and Christian rival missionaries for Ethiopia in the diplomatic relation between the two countries.
