يقدم هذا البحث دراسة تحليلية لغوية لخمسة من النقوش العربية الشمالية القديمة والتي اصطلح على تسميتها بالصفائية، وهذه النقوش هي من مقتنيات متحف دار سرايا إربد، وتبرزُ أهميها بأنها أخبرت عن استخدام بعض الصيغ الطلبية الدعائية لعدد من المعبودات، فقد طلب من اللات» التوبيخ« كما في النقش الأول، و»السلام«، كما في النقش الرابع ودونت هذه النقوش أحداث وقعت في الماضي مثل: الخرص على تيم بعام شديد الحرارة والرتع في مكان، \"درك إل\". يناقش هذا البحث أفعالاً جديدة ترد لأول مرة في النقوش الصفائية مثل: و \"بخ\"، \"شفيع\" وأسماءً وصفات جديدة مثل: \"تهم\"، \"عمس\"، \"ربعت\".
