Overview
يهدف هذا البحث إلي إلقاء الضوء على موقع من المواقع الأثرية الإسلامية في إقليم برقة، وهي منطقة المخيلي، حيث إن هذا الموقع لم يحظ بدراسة علمية متخصصة. وقد تناولت الدراسة منطقة المخيلي من خلال كتب المؤرخين والجغرافيين، ومن خلال بعض اللقى الأثرية التي اكتشفت بمحظ الصدفة من قبل بعض سكانها، وذلك للوقوف على أهميتها من خلال موقعها في طريق الحجاج القادمين من المغرب مرورا بإقليم برقة ومها إلي مصر ثم إلي مكة ذهابا وإيابا، وما مدى تأثير ذلك على المخيلي من الناحية الاقتصادية والمعمارية واستمرارية بقائها بتلك الأهمية على مدى قرون عديدة، كما ركزت الدراسة على تأريخ المخيلي كموقع إسلامي موجود به مسجد جامع قبل العصر الفاطمي.
