Overview

The Charter Of the United Nations included giving the UN Security Council the responsibility of maintaining international peace and security ,However, the difference among the interests of permanent members of the Council and the use of the veto was one of the main reasons for disabling the Councils work to resolve the Syrian crisis . this has consequently led to prolonging the period of conflict increasing human and material losses , destructing the infrastructures , increasing the number of displaced persons and deepening the dispute between the local , regional and international parties . thus , the security council has become part of the problem and not part of the solution , which requires agreement among the permanent members towards the issues under discussion without sticking to the full interest of a state at the expense of others , so the question of using the vote by member states needs to be reviewed and the charter needs to be amended with this regard . this falls in the interest of international community and contributes to the building of world peace .
