Overview
شكل الاتحاد السوفيتي أحد مصادر السلاح الرئيس لعدد من الجيوش العربية طول حقبة الستينيات من القرن العشرين، لاسيما الجيش اليمني فقد شحن له كمية كبيرة من الأسلحة أثناء التدخل العسكري المصري في اليمن بين عامي 1962 و 1967، مع الأخذ بالحسبان أن تلك الأسلحة وصلت إلى الجيش اليمني بشكل غير مباشر عن طريق مصر، بيد أن المعلومات المتوفر عنها تعد شحيحة جدا، نظرا لحساسية الموقف الدولي آنذاك
