تناول هذا البحث العلاقة بين عبد الكريم قاسم والحزب الديمقراطي الكردستاني (البارتي) وموقف الحزب من ثورة 14 تموز وطبيعة علاقة الملا مصطفى البارزاني والحزب مع عبد الكريم قاسم، وموقف الحزب من الخلاف الذي نشب بين قادة الثورة وقضية الوحدة مع الجمهورية العربية المتحدة، كذلك موقف الحزب الديمقراطي الكردستاني من الحركات المناوئة لعبد الكريم قاسم، وإجازة الحزب وبداية توتر العلاقة مع قاسم وصولاً إلى الصدام بين الطرفين
