Overview
درس هذا البحث الموقع الجغرافي لجزر الفوكلاند من حيث المساحة التي تشكلت منها الجزر والمسافة التي تبعد عن بريطانيا والأرجنتين، إضافة إلى اهم الجزر التي كونت هذا الارخبيل، فضلاً عن التركيبة السكانية، وكذلك سلط الضوء على مرحلة الاستكشافات التي انتشرت في العقد الأخير من القرن الخامس عشر مما ولد حالة من الصراع بين البرتغال وإسبانيا والتي انتهت بتوقيع معاهدة توردسيلاس، لتقع الجزر من حصة إسبانيا التي كانت محتلة أيضا للأرجنتين، وقد تناولنا في بحثنا هذا الصراع الفرنسي والبريطاني والأرجنتيني والأمريكي، وهو الأمر الذي قاد في نهاية المطاف إلى اندلاع الصراع الطويل بين بريطانيا والأرجنتين.
