يهدف هذا العمل الى البحث عن المعنى الاشمل والاعمق لكلمة الحداد وعلاقة الحداد بتقلبات الانا وذلك من خلال جزئي البحث: الجزء الأول وهو بعنوان \"الشيخوخة والموت والأنا\" وفيه نستعرض كيفية مقاومة النفس البشرية للمصير الحتمي الموت بالتحايل على الزمن المعاش للدفاع عما تهواه النفس البشرية من الاستمتاع ورغد العيش، والجزء الثاني فعنوانه \"الزمن والأنا\" وفيه نتناول آليات دفاع النفس البشرية عن ذاتها الضالة بسبب تقلبات الحياة والضغوط التى يتورط فيها الانسان دون قصد منه والتى يصحبها الفشل الذريع لانتصار القدر المحتوم.
