الشفافية والمساءلة هما وجها العملة التي تضعنا على بداية الطريق نحو التقدم وتشجيع الاستثمارات المحلية والأجنبية، وغيابها قد أدى بالتأكيد إلى انخفاض تدفق الاستثمارات بشقيها المباشر وغير المباشر بمعدلات متزايدة، ومن ناحية أخرى فإن تفعيلهما يجب ألا ينتظر زيادة جرعة الديمقراطية تدريجيًا كما ينادي البعض، وإنما يكون بإصدار قرارات فوقية حاسمة وجادة وعاجلة، وبغض النظر عن بعض الرؤوس التي \"ستطير\" نتيجة هذه الإجراءات إننا بالتأكيد لا نملك رفاهية الانتظار، حيث يزداد يومًا بعد يوم قناعة العديد من المفكرين والسياسيين وغيرهم من المهمومين بشأن هذا الوطن أن الوقت قد مضى بالفعل وأنه قد بات من المستحيل اللحاق بركب التقدم والنمو.
