Overview
Egypt's commodity exports do not contribute significantly to the GDP, and thus reduce their role in achieving the desired development goals. The diagnosis of the problem is that the quality of the Egyptian commodity exports is weak in value added, technology, as well as the absence of regional production of Egypt. Therefore, attention should be given to both the institutional framework and governance, the targeted industrialization policies, as well as regional and non-regional integration in both production and trade.
