تتمثل قيمة الرمز في شعر ابن عربي في أنه يورد الأشياء في صور خيالية، نابعة من تجربة خاصة. فقد وظف رمز المرأة في شعره بطريقة رمزية مكثفة، تعدل عن المعاني المباشرة، لتدل على رؤًى مغيبة.nتعد المرأة في رؤيا ابن عربي رمزا للجمال الدال على سر الوجود في بنائه، وحركته، وتحولاته؛ هذه الرؤيا تجمع بين جانبين: ذوقي جمالي من جهة، وفلسفي عقلي من جهة ثانية. من أجل ذلك يحتاج القارئ في تأويل الرموز إلى إعمال الخيال والتخيل، للكشف عن جمال اللفظ وتحولاته.
