يثير إقرار الكنيست الإسرائيلي \"قانون أساس: إسرائيل الدولة القومية للشعب اليهودي\"، نقاشًا عميقًا يتناول منطلقات ذلك القانون واستهدافاته التي تتجاوز جغرافيا \"دولة إسرائيل\" بحدودها ما بعد نكبة 1948، إلى أرض فلسطين التاريخية كلها، بل ما يتجاوز تلك الحدود أيضًا، وقانونيًا لجهة إظهار الوجه الحقيقي العنصري لهذه الدولة عبر اعتبار أنها دولة الشعب اليهودي كقومية قائمة بذاتها أينما يوجد اليهود، وأنها تمتلك الحقوق كلها، بينما من يعيش في كنف هذه الجغرافيا، ليس سوي مواطن درجة ثانية في أكثر تعديل. هذه المقالة تقدم قراءة في البعد القانوني والمفهومي لقانون الأساس (الدستوري) هذا، ولدوافع إصداره، وتقويمه على ضوء القانون الدولي، لتقدم في الختام مقترحات لمواجهته.
