تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معالجة ظاهرة من أهم الظواهر الصوتية وهي ظاهرة الوقف وذلك من خلال التعريف بالوقف وأهميته وموقف العلماء منه والأسباب التي تدعو إليه ويركز على الوقف في القرآن الكريم بذكر أنواعه ومراتبه والأوجه التي يمكن الوقف عليها وما ينتج من اختلاف في المعني في حالة الوقف على مواضع لا يجوز الوقف فيها.
