يتناول البحث رأي الطبري في فرض الرجلين في الوضوء من خلال تفسيره (جامع البيان) عرض ودراسة، حيث تباينت أراء العلماء في بيان رأيه بين قائل بالمسح على الرجلين، وبين قائل بالغسل، وبين مخير بينهما، وفي هذا البحث تحقيق لاستنباطاته في المسألة، ودفع للشبه عن رأيه الذي توصل إليه من خلالها، والذي يوافق ما عليه أهل السنة والجماعة وجمهور العلماء، وقد جاء البحث في مقدمة وتمهيد وخمسة مباحث وخاتمة وفهارس علمية.
