Overview
يوضح هذا البحث الدور الذى قام به العيون في مصر الإسلامية في عصر الولاة، حيث أنهم كانوا مكلفين بمهمة جمع المعلومات والأخبار من الرعية، كما أنه من ضمن مهامهم مراقبة الولاة بمصر، وقد كان يتم نقل هذه الأخبار والمعلومات في شكل تقارير لمقر الخلافة سواء في عصر الخلفاء الراشدين أو العصر الأموي أو العصر العباسي. كذلك يظهر من خلال هذا البحث أن هؤلاء العيون كان لهم دور فعال وحاسم في عزل بعض الولاة عن مصر وتعيين أخرين بدلا منهم. وبالتالي يتضح أن هذه الفئة شكلت دورا خطيرا وهاما في تلك الفترة الزمنية من تاريخ مصر الإسلامية.
