تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز الأثر الذي يحدثه الاستثمار السياحي على النمو الاقتصادي في الجزائر، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى وجود علاقة بين قيمة الاستثمار السياحي ونسبة مساهمة هذا القطاع في توليد الناتج المحلي الإجمالي الحقيقي، وتتحدد نسبة مساهمة القطاع السياحي في هيكل الناتج المحلي الإجمالي بقيمة الإنفاق الاستثماري السياحي وحجم العمالة لذات القطاع بنسبة (94%)، وأن تغير قيمة الاستثمار السياحي بوحدة واحدة يؤدي إلى زيادة الناتج بأكثر من أربع وحدات في الأجل الطويل، مما يعني ضرورة الاهتمام بهذا القطاع الذي قد يشكل بديلا للثروة النفطية الناضبة يوما ما.
